Fantastic Beasts

Today was the day I finally saw the movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I have to say this movie is definably a must-see for all Harry Potter fans and book-lovers alike. While the movie itself is great, I would excise caution if letting young children watching it. There are some parts that can really make you jump in your seat! I also find it cool that that they had Johnny Deep play Grindelwald at the end. The graphics were spectacular through out the whole film. On a scale of 1 to 10 how great this movie was I would give a 10!

Star Wars: Rogue One

Today Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out in theaters near me! The is definitely another movie that is on my watch list. It's about a rebellion solider named Jyn Erso who sets out to steal the Death Stars plan with the help of other Rebels, a swordsman, and non-allied sources but is in for something she can not foresee. Jyn Erso is played by Felicity Jones. This movie is rated PG-13 and is 134 minutes long or 2 hours & 14 minutes.

New Movies for the family

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is on of the many movies that I want to see this month. It is supposed to be about a wizard named Newt Scamander who goes around finding mysterious beasts. The movie is set seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book at Hogwarts. This movie is rated PG-13 and is 133 minutes long or 2 hours & 13 minutes.
Moana is actually a movie I have seen. I went to see it with my three-year old niece and both she and I enjoyed it. The music is good in this film. Some of them are definitely upbeat. It's about a village girl who is the daughter of the chief sets out to find Maui, a demigod so that he can restore the heart of Te Fiti before darkness destroy all the islands. Auli'i Cravaiho stars as the voice of Moana and Dwayne Johnson stars as the voice of Maui. Also the chickens antics are quite funny. This movie is rated PG and is 107 minutes or 1 hour & 47 minutes.

Trolls is another movie I haven't seen yet I have heard that is supposed to be good. The same creators who made Shrek made this film too. This film is about the happiest troll in the village named Poppy set outs with Branch, a rather grumpy troll to rescue her friends after the Bergens invade her village. It's rated PG and is 92 minutes long or 1 hour & 32 minutes.

Hello Everyone,

Thru out this week I have been working on editing my novel, The Taylor Sisters. Being my first novel there is a lot of paragraphs and chapters to edit. There always seems to be a new little detail that I can add that would make the story just a little more interesting. This last NaNoWriMo season has really made me want to write everyday. They really have helped me establish a writing habit. Though I can't remember who said this, someone once said "Don't be a writer. Be writing.". Once I am done editing my first draft, I plan on participating in Camp NaNoWriMo which in April and July of the coming year. During that time instead of them setting your goal, you set it. It could be writing 20,000 words or it can be editing your previous novels as long as you complete your project.

Merry Christmas!

Hey everyone. It's that time of year again. It's Christmas time! The time to spend with your family and friends. The time to decorate the Christmas tree and put up those lights. It's also the time to start baking cookies and cooking a ham for the special Christmas dinner. I hope you all have a very merry Chistmas and a happy New Year!
This last month I and millions of other people participated in a contest known as National Novel Writing Month. I am sad to announce that didn't make the goal of 50,000 words. I only made it 30,000 due the many, many events that happened in November. Better luck next year I guess.
One of those events that went on last month was me and a couple of friends going up to the Georgia aquarium where we were able to spend the night there! It was super cool! We particiapated in one of those sleep over events they hold. They assigned us to sleep in the Ocean Voyager section. If any of you have ever been you would know that sleeping under it should be one anyone's bucket list. If you haven't been there Ocean Voyager is this great big tank that houses 4 whale sharks, 4 manta rays, one green sea turtle, and dozens of kinds of fish. Where we were sleeping was right under the glass tunnel that runs right under the tank so it's like you are right there under the water. We were also able to see the sea lion show, the dolphin show, the buluga whales, the sea otters, the jellyfish and many more animals.

Sorry everyone about the abrupt stop in posts. I'll  try to do better this next month. The chickens are now 10 months old.  We built a chicken coop in July for them. They are now happy, healthy and officialy out of the the garage. 😇As most people know, NaNoWriMo  or National Novel Writing Month is this month. During this time writers alike write 50,000 words or basically  a novel in the month of November. I will keep you updated on that. Thanks

As you know my chickens are growing very rapidly. They are only 7 weeks old and they have gone from a 40 gallon bucket to a large dog crate and now they are almost too big for that. I never realized how much chickens grow in 2 months! I am thinking one of them might be a rooster but I can't tell quite yet. They seem to love their coop. I have put them in it just so they can get used to it. I don't feel quite comfortably about putting them in there permentaly.

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time. The chickens are doing just fine. They are now 5 weeks old. I have also named each one. The 4 Rhode Island Reds are named June, Clementine, Matilda, and Chloe. The 2 Delawares are named Sabrina and Amelia. Amelia was actually the first one to fly. That is the reason I named her Amelia. Sabrina actually means legendary English princess. The reason behind that name is she is at the top of the "pecking order" I'm sure because she is
                                                          1. Bigger than the rest
                                                          2. She is always the first one to jump out of her cage.
Yep we had to borrow a huge dog crate to put the chickens in because they kept flying over their feeder and they needed more space. The chickens have now out grown the cage. Soon I will be putting them into their chicken coop. My neighbor helped me build a chicken coop from a kit since I am not very handy with tools as much. It looks small but I'm sure it will be enough space a least according to all the chicken handbooks. I will be posting pictures soon. :-)

Tuesday, February 2, 2016                  Day 5

Problems at Midnight.

Last night I experienced a minor case of pasty butt with one of my chicks. Luckily I was up late and while watching my new chickens I noticed one of them had dried poop on her butt (please excuse me if I am too graphic). Pasty butt is very common with chickens that are between  0 to 2 weeks old. If not taken care of quickly the chick may die. The books suggest using a washcloth or towel and wetting it with warm water. You then are supposed to wipe the dried poop of the chick with the now warm washcloth. You need to act quickly because the little chicks get cold after a while away from their heating lamp. Since chickens are new to me, this was a new experience for me. Overall it  only lasted a couple of minutes. This was the poor little chick who had the pasty butt. It just so happened this chick is one of them that don't enjoy being handled as much.

Saturday, January 29, 2016           Day 2

Chickens

On Friday I purchased 6 chickens from Rural King. 4 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Delawares. Most people when they think of chickens they think of a smelly feathered bird that lays eggs or is a famous dinner recipe. In reality chickens are cute, interesting birds that can be funny at times with the added bonus of eggs. The chicks we got are so far happy and healthy. Their funny antics can be hilarious at times. When I bought them they were 3 days old. They are now 6 days old and still as cute since day 1.
